Caroline Carlisle (Retired)
This was my pen name for new adult paranormal romance, vampires, shifters, magic users, and hybrids, set in an academy world. Think Vampire Diaries vibes, but college instead of high school.
The intended flagship series here was Blake Academy for the Undead, a new adult paranormal academy series full of betrayals, secrets, lies, and twists.
College bites, and at Blake Academy, the students bite back.
Gwen Donovan never knew supernaturals were real until she woke up dead. She didn’t choose to be an undead hybrid, and she definitely didn’t elect to attend Blake Academy for the Undead of her own free will, her overprotective mother chose immortality for her, and Gwen’s the one who has to live with the consequences.
Bloodlust, conflicting powers vying for dominance, and uncontrollable rage force her to seek refuge within Blake Academy’s safely bespelled walls, right as a sinister sickness spreads through the supernatural enclave like wildfire, with Gwen as patient zero. When the Academy’s security is breached for the first time since its founding in 1492, Gwen has to prove she had nothing to do with it, or risk execution for endangering the most well-protected supernatural enclave in the world.
If you love that same dark academy, secrets-and-betrayal energy as Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series, L. J. Smith’s The Vampire Diaries, the CW’s Legacies, or Sara Shepard’s Pretty Little Liars, just aged up into a college world, this one’s for you.
This material is currently being overhauled, and will eventually migrate over to C. J. Beaumont as well, joining Luna Beaumont‘s shifters and the rest of my paranormal catalog under one name.
Only the prequel ever actually made it out into the world before I got pulled deep into my Regencies and dark romance. These are the perils of being a writer with ADHD, honestly, so I’m holding the re-release until I’ve got the prequel and the full planned trilogy that follows it finished, not just the first piece of the puzzle.
